Big Fish Landscapes ‘Memories of Mountains – a Garden Retreat'

Influenced by the tranquil and spiritual mountain retreats in the regions of China’s Zhejiang Province, this garden brings a sense of calm to an urban terrace.
Surrounded by dramatic scenery, the main paved area can be used for seating, yoga or mediation surrounded by stone lined rainwater pools. This is intended to symbolise a balancing pool that collects water which percolates into storage tanks for re-use.
Feature trees, clipped hedges and flowing low shrubs and perennials intermingle with Asian style step stones, setts and gravel in a careful meandering pattern across the garden. A feeling of enclosure and intimacy ensure that this retreat provides solace and encourages inspirational memories of mythical mountains.
