Family Garden East Northamptonshire

We extended and upgraded the patio around the house, softened with planting and added further paving at the end of the garden around the shed which was to be repurposed as a Summer House.

Space for outdoor cooking, dining and relaxing in morning and evening sun was considered and a second area by the house created for a sunny breakfast spot surrounded by lush planting.

At the other end of the garden there is a pergola covered dining and BBQ area as well as a bespoke wooden frame to support climbing plants as well as swings and climbing ropes for the children.  It also contains a cosy reading nook as part of the structure which can them form an extended seating area for a portable fire pit for evenings in the garden.

The stone effect house had a modern extension to the rear of the kitchen and we used dark weathered Imperial London bricks to tie these materials together when creating the new retaining edge for the patio and borders.

Planting was a mix of shade and sun tolerant species as required around the site in a restricted palette of colours to create year round interest.  It was also used to create additional structure in the middle section of the garden as the Clients wanted to retain an open aspect to the space.
