Re-creating the Austrian Alps in a regular back garden

The client is a regular visitor to the Austrian Alps, and wanted his back garden to remind him of walking holidays there. Planting was to feature alpine plants and red and white - the colour of the Austrian flag. I used the natural slope of the garden to create an 'Alpine trail'.

This type of planting style is know as 'crevice planting'. It looks stunning - and is great fun to do.

The path follows the slope of the garden, and meanders round, through the planting.
