A sunken garden for seating and entertaining

Having recently acquired the large period property, our clients had begun a process of extensive renovations. A new extension provided attractive views of the garden, but were dominated by an unwanted and dilapidated outdoor swimming pool.

Our design for the new garden features a sunken garden within the footprint of the old swimming pool structure. With raised beds, a low-maintenance water feature and a small seating area, this space is now dominated by an abundance of wonderful planting. Steps lead up to a larger seating area, complete with a new aluminium gazebo structure.

A decorative sculptural screen provides a pleasing sense of enclosure for the new garden, whilst also offering glimpses of the rest of the wider garden surrounding the property.
